It’s official: MERveille, the festival of diving and the protection of the seabed, will bring its bubbles to Banyuls-sur-Mer from 23 to 25 April 2027, on the Quai Georges Petit and the Allées Aristide Maillol.
The choice of venue is no accident. The seafront of Banyuls-sur-Mer opens onto the Cerbère-Banyuls marine nature reserve, France’s first marine reserve, and stands next door to the Oceanological Observatory, which has been studying these seabeds since 1882. The festival takes place where the sea is enjoyed, studied and protected every day.
A free event, for ages 8 and up
Conceived as a festive gathering, the festival will be free and open to all, from the age of 8. On the seafront, the village will host taster dives, workshops, talks, exhibitions and demonstrations.

Organised by L’Indépendant, MERveille is being built with the clubs, scientists, institutions and associations of the Côte Vermeille. Join us in spring 2027 for the very first edition.
